Daci Yan (大慈岩) is a unique temple complex located on sheer cliffs near the city of Jiande. The main temple is partly carved directly into the rock, which is why it is called a "hanging temple" (like the famous Xuankong Temple, but smaller and more secluded). This place takes your breath away: ancient pagodas, a giant double‑sided Buddha statue, a transparent bridge at a height of hundreds of meters and mysterious caves.
In one day we will take the cable car, visit all the key points: the temple complex, the Buddha statue, the hanging bridge, the cave and the viewing platforms. Breathtaking views of the mountains and the Xin'an River valley await us. Perfect for nature lovers, Buddhist culture enthusiasts and thrill‑seekers.

- Early morning departure from Shanghai – meeting at Hongqiao station, boarding a high‑speed train to Jiande (≈2–2.5 h).
- Arrival in Jiande – transfer to bus No. 201 or a taxi to the Daci Yan park entrance (≈30–40 min).
- Cable car ascent – enjoy the views while rising to the cliff temple (5 min).
- Visit to the main temple – explore the ancient halls carved into the rock and the pagodas.
- Giant Buddha statue (双面佛) – a 10‑meter double‑sided figure, the symbol of Daci Yan.
- Walk on the suspended glass bridge – adrenaline and fantastic photos at a height of 300 m.
- White Cloud Cave (白云洞) – descend into a karst cave with lighting.
- Lunch at a café at the foot of the mountain – vegetarian dishes, local tofu and tea.
- Descent on foot or by cable car – enjoy nature, return to the exit.
