Jinyun Xiandu (缙云仙都) is a top‑category 5A scenic area often called the "capital of immortals". The legendary Dinghu Peak, where the Yellow Emperor is said to have refined the elixir of immortality; the Temple of Huangdi – the main centre of his worship in southern China; ancient rock inscriptions over a thousand years old; and, of course, the famous show with a farmer and a water buffalo, which has become a symbol of this place. Films such as "Ashima" and "The New Flying Fox" were shot here. And recently, a trendy new attraction has opened – the Yandan Book Cave, a café‑library inside a former quarry.

We recommend two days to leisurely explore all the main spots and enjoy nature. The ticket is valid for 48 hours. A one-day option is possible, but it will be very packed.
Is it difficult to climb the peak?
Climbing the peak itself is closed, but you can ascend the neighbouring Bushen Mountain by foot (about 40 minutes) or by cable car (5 minutes). Accessible for all ages.
When does the water buffalo show take place?
On weekends and public holidays in the morning (around 10:00–11:00) and afternoon (15:00). On weekdays, the show can be booked for an additional fee (about 300¥).
Is there somewhere to eat inside the park?
Yes, there are cafés and snack bars at the entrance and near each major attraction. Be sure to try the local shaobing flatbreads.
What to do in rainy weather?
In the rain, the views become especially atmospheric – mist envelops the cliffs. However, the trails can be slippery, so waterproof shoes are needed. Umbrellas can be bought on site.
Can I come with children?
Yes, the park is great for families. Children will enjoy the cable car, the little bridges and the chance to feed the fish.

The name "Xiandu" translates as "Capital of Immortals". Legend says that the Yellow Emperor (Huangdi) refined the pill of immortality here and ascended to heaven, leaving his tripod – hence the name Dinghu Peak (Tripod Lake Peak). In 2001 the area received 5A status. More than 300 films have been shot here, including "Ashima" and "The New Flying Fox".
