📜 History and legends
Jinze was founded in the Tang dynasty (618–907). The name translates as "Golden Stream". In ancient times it was a prosperous trading town on the Grand Canal. Legend has it that a wealthy merchant lived here who ordered seven bridges to be built to connect his estates. Since then, Jinze has been called the "Town of Bridges".
