Jiaxi Shibawou: Canyon of Whirlpools and Suspension Bridges
The Eighteen Whirlpools Scenic Area (夹溪十八涡) is located in Jiaxi Gorge, Zhejiang province, about 350 km from Shanghai. This unique canyon features 18 powerful whirlpools, waterfalls and deep pools carved by the river through the rocks.

What to expect
- Early departure from Shanghai (07:00) — meeting at Xinzhuang metro station, comfortable car with Russian guide.
- Arrival at Jiaxi Gorge (~11:30) — start of a scenic 4‑km walk.
- Exploring the 18 whirlpools — you will see the famous whirlpools “Dragon's Mouth”, “Jade Pool”, “Roaring Cauldron” and others. The power of water and rocks creates fantastic landscapes.
- Suspension bridges — 2 thrilling bridges over the canyon, offering the best views.
- Bamboo groves and waterfalls — shady paths, the sound of waterfalls, great photo spots.

- Comfortable footwear is mandatory (paths are flat but there are stairs).
