💡 Important notes for the car trip from Xinzhuang:
- Meeting at Xinzhuang is chosen specifically to avoid traffic jams in central Shanghai.
- Toll roads: the highways are toll roads, bring cash or use ETC.
- Parking in Suzhou: paid parking in the centre (10–20¥/hour), spaces are limited. Park‑and‑ride lots are recommended.
- Traffic jams: possible during rush hour on the way out of Shanghai and in the evening on the way back.
- Comfortable footwear is mandatory – a lot of walking in gardens and on streets.
