Wuzhen: The Pearl of Water Towns
Wuzhen is one of the six ancient water towns of the Yangtze region, founded more than 1,300 years ago. The town is famous for its history as a centre of silk and indigo production, and for its unique canal system that served as the main transport arteries. Wuzhen is divided into four areas, each with its own atmosphere: the Eastern Area preserves traditional crafts, the Western Area is known for its evening shows, and the picturesque canals connect everything into a single whole.
