What awaits you: a hike along forest trails, a visit to the ancient Chanyuan Temple, lunch at a local farmhouse restaurant, and the chance to see unique plants and, if you're lucky, wild animals. The route is designed for people with good physical fitness but does not require special equipment.

- Meeting and transfer — we will pick you up from a metro station in Shanghai and drive to Tianmu Mountain by car (about 3.5 hours).
- Ascent to Chanyuan Temple — start with a visit to the ancient Buddhist temple at the foot, where you can see old pagodas and feel the atmosphere of seclusion.
- Trekking through forest trails — climb to the summit through a relict forest with giant trees, fresh air and birdsong.

💡 Important notes for the route:
- Physical fitness: moderate level required – the ascent takes several hours along stairs and forest trails.
- Shoes and clothing: comfortable trekking boots, weather‑appropriate clothing, raincoat in case of rain.
- Water and snack: bring at least 1 liter of water per person and a light snack.
- Weather: it can be cool in the mountains even in summer, a windbreaker is advisable.
- Alternative option – cable car: Tianmu has a cable car (not always operational), please check in advance.
